Amp stands - what are you using?

I am currently using a small combo amp stand that a guitarist friend left at my house a few years ago. It works great for a single Acme B2, but I don't see it handling anything bigger. I'm getting to the point where I need either dual 115 setup or something like an HT322 and I hate the idea of it sitting on the floor.

What's good in amp stands nowadays? What are you using and how much do you like or hate it?

A 2" x 2" piece of wood spray painted black, though I'm probably going to switch to the box for my Countryman DI sprayed black. Don't use one often anymore, though.

On a rare occasion that I'm playing with just one D112XLT Eden cabinet and I want it raised higher to hear it. I'll put the rig on an old gray plastic milk crate that I got from work. Classy huh ....lol.

Ohhhhhhhhh...:rollno: :( :bawl:

Amp stand or piece of wood sprayed black are the only acceptable amp stands.

NO MILK CRATES!!!

auralex gramma "isolation riser". lifts the cab off the floor slightly, protects it, sound projects into the room / gig much better, rather than getting absorbed by the floor. more relevant if you are on concrete floors rather than a stage which might be hollow underneath. see this link:

I got given a MARK BASS cab stand -which is essentially 3 bits of wood, velcro covered, which U set up to forma (very solid) triangle of varying degrees- this works a treat under my neo rig! (a 1x15 & a 1x12 cab w/ a LMII atop

I have one of these too. It's brilliant and makes a big difference. I now hear closer to what the audience hears. Only thing is, it only really works with carpet covered cabs.

Don't like the way milk crates look on stage? Give your crate unimpeachable production values by draping it with black fabric.

BTW, one of the bands I work with has started regularly playing a club where the PA spill makes the stage insanely loud. My favorite stand there is a PA tripod, so I can get my Carvin 1503 not just pointed at my ears but absolutely up to ear height.

This is what I use atm. I find having it raised makes a big difference
