Hey, everyone just wondering on some suggestions for an amp upgrade. I'd like to get something near 100 watts for under $300 but if it's great quality I'd go a little more. As of now it's between an Ampeg Micro- CL 100w or an Acoustic B200 200w.

It depends.... If you want to play with a live drummer or a guitarist / keys... 100W might be enough, but it might not.
If you have no amp (upgrade implies you do) it's probably good to get an amp ASAP, even if it's just a headphone amp.
If you have a small bedroom amp with low output (15 - 50W catagory) you might be advised to save for a bigger (2-300W+) rig if you want to jam or gig with it... but in a low volume scenario a 100W amp, especially a good one might be enough.
My experiance was I initally borrowed a friends 10W amp, then got my own bass & amp (at 110W). I can keep up with a light/medium handed drummer... but my combo probably won't last too long with that kind of stress. I could not reasonably gig or jam with this rig. I should emphasise my bass and amp are low budget, so a 100W higher quality combo could be a lot louder... and better sounding.
You can get good bang per buck with second hand gear but be aware... it can be risky, most things are sold as seen.
There are a million choices, but when cash is short don't set unreasonable goals. Take some time, play through any used (or new) amp - and definately avail of stores return policies if you need to.
