ampeg 4x10 help

I'm still torn. Should I get the BSE or save more for a deal on a used SVT? I know the SVT is a better cab but is it necessarily worth the extra money? I'll probably go with the 3Pro on top of it.

I think you know my answer to this already... The speakers are the difference between the two cabs in reality.

The SVT-410HLF is a real rocken sockem cab. What do you really want? A single SVT410 and 3PRO would be a great little amp.

I'll be getting that exact same deal on a used BSE410HLF tommorow. My band practices in a smaller room and mostly plays small bars. With my backline600 on top of it hopefully i'll get a useable volume/bass response.

I'm going out looking tonight!

I've been running a SVT410HLF with a SVT3Pro for 3 or 4 years now and love it! The two make a very good match. The tonal capabilities of the 3Pro's preamp allow for a huge variety of tones. I have full PA support so the master rarely gets above the 9:00 position. :p

I've never played a BSE410HLF. I'd say a lot depends on what volume you'll be playing at. If it's loud, then you might want to save up for an SVT model or look at a sealed cabinet. As for the amp, the B2 might do the job depending again on your volume needs. The BSE410HLF with B2 or the SVT410HLF with a SVT3Pro should both be good matchups.

I too think you'll love it. I play thru an Ampeg 610HLF...make certain it is indeed an HLF they are deep phat lows... my ampeg B2R powers this badboy and does a fantastic job!....Go for it!.mine is 350W.I think you'll like the 410HLF as well.

Contrary to popular belief, I would say that this cab has NO LOWS at all. What it DOES have is LOW-MIDS. Very different thing.

Not saying it's bad, just making the distinction. Some call it warm and full, I call it muddy and boomy. It will balance well if you play pickstyle, in my opinion.

I tend to play finger style 99% of the time. Depending on song rhythm or fell of the song I may use a pick. As I said I usually play in drop D, my settings are usually treble: 1/4-1/3 of the way up, bass: cranked, mids: cranked. Do you think this cab will come off muddy?
