ampeg 610-hlf vs. 410-hlf

i just bought an ampeg svt 610-hlf. powered by a gk backline 600 head. it sounds like crap man. i've played through a barrowed 410 hlf at practice and it sounded awesome. i know that the head is lacking, but would it make that much of a difference between the two? i would like to keep the 610 because i know i will want more watts out of a cab later, but is the 410 hlf a better "sound quality" cab?

I have the svt 410hlf pushing it with a GK 700rbII and it frankly sounds awesome. Never tried the 610 nor the backline 600. How many watts does it push? If your amp won't power the cab then I can see why it would sound like "crap".

I never even tried an Ampeg cab until recently. for some reason I figured nothing would ever compare to my Edens. Now I am the proud owner of a brand new black diamond tolex SVT810E and a shiny new SVT112HE. They are both very impressive cabs and I am loving the 810's sealed/no tweeter tone. And holy crap does it cut through the mix!

hey guys,

I just bought an Ampeg v4b head and am thinking about the svt40hlf vs ampeg610hlf. I like the warm bass tone, however Ive heard that the 410 can be rather to "low." Would eht 610 be a more well rounded choice? thx
