Well, since money IS an issue, I am in the market for a V4 or V4B. I hope that's the right choice. 
Used an original for over a decade.
As long as it can be cranked past 9~10 o'clock on the volume AND the tubes & power supply are good.....it KILLS.

I voted-70's SVT
BUT I'd be happy with a new VR.
ALSO I'd take a modern 810-last 4 or 5 yrs- or an old flat back 70's 810

The poll certainly needed to have a V4-B as an option. I run one in our practice room with an SVT stack of 410HLN and 115. Balls to spare.
The V4-B is a perfect option for someone who doesn't want to spend four figures but wants that classic Ampeg valve tone.
