I'd much rather have a V4B than any SVT. With two EL84 adapters they can be run at 100W, 50W, or 25W (can be handy for guitar). You can also mod them for 6550's and run them at 130W, 65W, or 32W. SVT's can only be run at 300W, so they're only getting full saturated tone in arenas. I don't trust tubes beyond a V4's power level anyway, nor does my back. I'll take my SVP-CL and IPR 1600 over any SVT too.

V4B rocks. Used to have one. But if we're talking about SVT's, my opinion is that any SVT that works is a good SVT. They fall into two groups for me...master volume and no master volume. Some greatly prefer one or the other. I only slightly prefer the non-master SVT's, and in some situations like where maybe you want some tube grind but can't turn the volume all the way up on a non-master SVT, it's nice to have the CL or 2 Pro so you can at least get the preamp tubes cooking a bit. But the big difference is in the master volume vs single volume knob models. I hear very little difference between old SVT's and the current SVT-VR. I also hear zero difference between old and new SVT-CL's. And it's been a good while since I played a 2 Pro but I don't recall anything that stood out as being significantly different from the CL.

First vote goes to a magnavox era v4 but that's not an option so 2nd choice would be an original svt
