Ampeg B-100R Volume Issue

Volume level drops significantly for no apparent reason, then comes back when I move the Gain dial. Otherwise, great amp. Any ideas about the cause or a fix appreciated.

Replace gain pot. Pot is damged.

Pot could also be dirty and just need cleaning. Hard to tell without it being in front of me on a bench.
