Ampeg B100r

I've had one for 6 years, and it's never given me a problem. Just thought I'd speak up for one that works perfectly! :)
Also, I've used it on festival stages and been able to hear myself, with a drummer present, just fine. Sounds great with any of my basses, active or not.
I didn't realize they weren't real wood... that's disappointing...
But I still love it and recommend it.

My B-100R is approaching 6-years old too with out any issues. It's been a great little amp for the money and I'm absolutely satisfied with mine. The B-200R sounds interesting, but I doubt I'll move up as my B-100R does everything I want it to. I have other rigs to use for bigger needs.

Between my brother and myself we've had three B-100Rs over the past five or six years (I sold my first like a fool and almost immediately bought another). The only issues to report are a burned out power light on my bro's and a POP when the amp shuts down. My brother's received some water damage when our practice space leaked, but the darn thing kept on ticking.

I love my B-100R and miss the days when I was able to rehearse and gig with it. I can understand why people don't like the tone, but for me it's perfect. Also at the moment it's my practice amp, and I don't have a problem getting a good sound at lower volumes. In fact for my purposes the amp excells at that.

Not necessarily. Someone else here may own either the B200R or the BA115HPT, which may have essentially same electronics in a cosmetically different box. I'm hoping someone from Ampeg will clarify this issue.

From what I hear, that pop is a "feature" of the B100R. Sounds bad but you get used to it and it doesn't hurt anything. Though I make sure the PA is turned off before I turn off the Ampeg when I'm going direct to the PA. That pop doesn't do the PA any good.

Later this year I'm going to invest in a Shure SM57 and mike it instead of going direct.

It's a keeper for me, the only issue I've had is a broken knob but that was my fault. Whacking it with a mic stand doesn't do it any good. :hmm: My G&L L-2500 tribute sounds awesome through it! :D

...but I love it anyway. Where else can you find real tone that doesn't require a crew of roadies to carry around? All the other small combos I checked out had tweeters and sounded bad, even with the tweeters turned off. Ampeg knows what I need.:D
