Ampeg B15R mods

Has anyone modified a B15R from factory specs??
I could be getting a B15R with ext cab BUT opinions suggest this is NOT a vintage sounding B15 amp. If it's anything close I'll be happy camper..
Would love feed back if anyone uses this heavy little beauty.

I wouldn't be setting out to mod anything until you play through it. You may
love the sound of this rig right from the start.

The SLM era B-15R ain't a bad amp at all. Factor in that it puts out 100 watts plus
you get an extension cab for it you already are way ahead of the lower wattage B-15
combos of the past to a certain degree.

You'd have to break down what you don't like about it tone wise in order to see if
you could revoice any part of it's design. Yes it is different from the vintage B-15's
but not in a bad way. I tried a couple of B-15R's and I thought they were great for
what they were. Maybe a few owners have a few tips and tweaks to offer but I don't
know what it is you think they lack.

Nice to hear your positive comments. Next week I should have it to play with. My little 25 watt 61' ampeg B12N is a tone monster BUT weak while the SVT-VR is the total bomb (GREAT). I've just wanted a "tweener" tube amp and always loved the B15 sound and look..
I'll get back to you after I've played with it.
Thanks again..
