Ampeg B4R or SVT-3 Pro???

thinking of buying one of the two wanna here some other opinions???

The 3 pro has a tubed pre-amp and is going to give you a nice fat tone as opposed to the B4R (solid state). If you don't know much about amps and/or cabs I would look at the F.A.Q.s and read up on some stuff.

I bought SVT-3 about 6-8 months ago... since then i have never been happier with my rig. I moved from Trace elliot > ashdown > markbass and finally Ampeg.

Its a great amp, and suits me in all of my bands
- Classic rock
- Thrash metal
- Jazz / Fusion

I think you just can't go wrong with Ampeg

Depends on what you need. If you're in a loud band and need globs of power, I'd get the B4R, but if you want oodles of good tone, get the SVT's. Also, get a used tube pre and use the output of that going into the B4R if you want.

i owned a 3 pro for several years and it was quite tasty.

Between the two, the 3Pro is the better amp. Subjective, of course, but seriously, it's Ampeg's "pro-series", instead of "b series". The preamp tubes make a HUGE difference.

I no longer own either but I once bought the SVT3 and ended up returning it for the B4. Better clean tone IMO and more versatile tone options. The SVT3 always sounded fuzzy to me. Made me want to play innagaddadavidda honey!
sold the B4 and got a markbass LMII. It blows both of them away!
