Ampeg Blue/Silver grill cloth not available anywhere

You know, it's possible that my memory is somewhat inaccurate regarding where I got the grille cloth. It might have been Parts Express or Fliptops I suppose. One of the downsides of age...

Does anyone know why the Ampeg-style blue/silver grill cloth is no where to be found, and no eta for possible restock?

I have a Crate Be15 that I’d like to re-cover with tolex and the blue/silver grill cloth to match my V4B and 2 svt210av’s, but all the online stores (Fliptops, Antique electronics supply, etc) are out of it.

I even saw a thread here that Ampeg themselves is low on their stock.

I don’t mind waiting to take on the project, but I’d like to have a sense as to when I might be able to get the parts to tackle it.

I've had same problem, just found one lot on eBay - overpriced but I went for it. The seller did not indicate the length so I'm hoping it is enough for my B-25B 2 X 15 inch cabinet. I had purchased some in 2013 ao I have enough for the B-25 cabinet, but I'm refurbishing a V-4B first and replacing the grill on the amp head starting tomorrow. Yikes, it was nasty - lots of spilled drink, cigarette smoke and probably someone's DNA. Going to call the Loud place referenced in one of the replies. If successful I'll post again with the results.

What kinds of lengths do yo need? I believe I have what you are looking for. I have a 42"x 35" length so I might even have enough to do both heads. I bought this for my fEARful 1212/6 but I went with a metal grille. I was saving it for the eventual guitar cabinet I build but it sounds like you two could use it a lot more than I can. I can live using a different material on my eventual build. Plus, I need to de-clutter.

That would be awesome @DiabolusInMusic ! I’ll measure the cab grill when I get home, but I think a 35x35 square would do it (it’s the 4x12 V4 cab).

@armyadarkness would the remainder be enough for your CL grill? They are wide, but likely not that tall.

Would be great if we can get both projects from the single piece.

Guys really sorry that I missed your responses! The Coffee club gets hundreds of posts a day, so I guess that they got buried! I haven't read ahead, but yes I'm still looking for it, and I'll take whatever anyone has. I just need to redo the grill on a Heritage SVT so that it matches my SVT212 cabs. Those head grills are only a few inches tall.

If you can't find it right away, be patient. Yamaha is gearing up Ampeg now and I don't think it'll be too much longer before they have some more cloth. So don't put any bogus imitations on them just yet

My GAS money is going to get stretched to the limit this weekend (more to come) and the V4 grill is good enough for the moment.

As for the cloth, yeah it's not like I'm looking for something from the 60's. My new V4B and both SVT cabs are covered in what I want!

First up will be recovering my V-4B head, and I know I will have enough extra for the speaker cabinet as well (the 2 X 15 inch size cabinet). I should have it done in a few weeks when I get the time, I'll let you know how much leftover there may be.

I do have some cloth but, after doing the math, I would either have to take a big loss on it (and eventually replace it) or sell it for an offensively high price. It might be worth it domestically but it is just too much for cloth once it crosses the border.

Lol... Yes I did catch the tail end of a conv. with you and another guy on it. Many of the guys in my club are in Canada and I've since heard the horrors! Thanks for the heads up. I'll see where Yamaha goes with it.
