Ampeg combo

Hey all!
I have this Ampeg SVT 3 non-pro combo with the SVR 212. It's a heavy thing!! It sounds really good!

I'm not sure if it's ok to ask, but I have someone local to me that is interested in it…any suggestions on what the value might be for this old rig? It's dirty and has some chips in it. Everything works well as it should.

Kinda depends on a few factors like location, how much it actually weighs, etc. but I'd say a median value of 250$. If you actually put it on marketplace at that price it might just sit, but a lot of young players might risk 150$. It's old, heavy, and parts availability is a serious question if anything fails, so it would be hard to ask much more. If there's anything you're not telling us that might make it worth more (stash of NOS parts, custom dolly, extension cab, etc.) then
MAYBE you could try to get 350$, but that would be quite a stretch.
I suppose a fellow TBer might chime in with a higher valuation, but this is kind of just a practice space amp at this point, I don't know how many people would drag this around to gigs, potentially you could detach the head and sell it separately for about the same money as you would get fo4 the combo.
"It's dirty and has chips in it" You could spruce it up, but I'm not really sure that would be worth the effort. See if he'll buy it for 200$… or keep it, if the utility of owning another bass amp is worth it.

Just mention it's made in USA (not China) as it may increase the value.

That's a neato amp, I don't think I've ever seen one, it's kind of unique. Yours is 90 lbs. The 215 version is 100! Cool design and the head looks like it will come out easily if someone didn't want to lug the whole thing around. Take 5 minutes to dust it off and put $300 on it.

Clean it up with some mild cleaner and a dash of conviction and check the results. It could only help the salability of the thing. Why not?

Yes the amp comes right out and there's an extra space filled with the Ampeg sign. I've often thought about putting a different head in there.
