Ampeg Grill Cloth

Weekend project: make new grills for both by ampeg svt210he cabs and put on new grill cloth. I decided on the 60's style grill cloth (from Fliptops) for that portaflex look since i'm using the cabs with a PF500. I used 3/4 birch plywood from Lowes. I cut to size for each cab.

I used a jigsaw for the cutouts.

Checking the fit.

I painted them black and then started applying the grill cloth.

I have never done this before so I was a little nervous about messing it up. It turned out pretty good, not perfect but I am happy with it.

Now I think I want to make new grills for my svt410he cabs using 70's style cloth!

Hey nice work there gregmari. I just bought a new SVT-212AV cab and think I'd prefer the classic look grill. I think it would match my PF800 color-wise better. Was about to research ordering it from Ampeg or whoever sells em. But DIY seems possible I see. Wonder if I can get the white piping too? Good job.

Yep I've seen where Dino mentions that in a couple vids. When I went to the Ampeg site a couple times, couldn't get that info on replacement grills to come up. Do authorized stores carry the classic grills or who(m) else? Thanks for any info jM.
I wouldn't know, but call Ampeg and they can hook you up.
