Maybe someone can help ID this amp. I purchased it along with a Gibson Thunderbird MK IV in 1980 for $900 and it has performed flawlessly that entire span of time. At the time it was misrepresented as another model (you can likely guess which one). None the less I wish to not necessarily restore it but repair the lettering on the front as it has worn off over time. I was hoping that someone may make decals for it or at least get a picture of a good specimen so I can proceed from there.

It may have been called a VT22. AFAIK V4 is the head and VT22 is the combo version.

Fliptops has sold repro faceplates in the past, but currently shows out of stock:

You could contact them and see if they plan a production run.

It says V4 on the faceplate above the power switch. It's a guitar amp with reverb. But it can be used for bass as is. The difference between this amp and a V4B is just a few components in the preamp. coreyfyfe
has posted the differences between the models and how to convert to a V4B.
You can 100% confirm it's a V4 if the back side has (VT-22 V4) lettering like this pic:

I think it's a V2. Same circuit as the VT-40, basically a half power V4. Chassis look too short to be a V4. Should be easy to tell, does it have two power tubes or four?
