Ampeg Micro-CL question

I just received my Micro Cl I ordered from Guitar Center and I have the same issue. But I really think it is a problem with the cabinet, since I connected my headphones and the distortion disappeared. Anyway, I don't know what the problem might be with the cab :S

It's funny, I just got home from playing one of these in a shop. I had the same experience with it. It was fuzzed out even at a low volume. I wondered if there was something wrong with the head but the sales guy said that was how these amps are. It sounded pretty cool, but not very versatile.

Yeah this amp doesn't really do clean, it's got no gain but a slight built in overdrive fuzz even at low volumes.

And FYI I took it to my last rehearsal and it was also loud enough to keep up with a drummer and two guitars, which was a bit surprising. I don't know if it keeps up with my Mesa WA Scout but the volume from this little 100 practice amp (what I bought it for) is plenty enough for small gigs, bars, etc.

Just got a Micro-CL in a trade. From what I can tell the overdrive tone is built in. Easing up on the attack will give you a somewhat clean sound. It does what it does really well though in my opinion. Louder than I expected as well.

Yeah the Micro-CL doesn't do clean. I bought a PF350 which I use interchangeably with the Micro-CL head for when I want cleaner tone. I agree it's a cool little amp, I use this set up for practice.
