Just got my PF350 and tried it, and it works with both 210av cabs just fine with the gain cranked. Smacks 'em pretty good, too!

Anyway, due to my recent status change with Ampeg, maybe you guys might not take me the same way anymore, but I honestly feel like they're trying to do the right thing here, and still are. Statistically it's impossible to please everybody 100% of the time, but I still feel their hearts are in the right place and they're trying to please those of us who are having issues. I just can't get worked up over the situation. IMHO there's nothing to get worked up over...yeah, it sucks that it takes a while, but I will always salute honest effort, and that's what you're getting here.

I agree with what you've said here. I'll tell you what my concern is, though. I'd like to get a second cab..however...do I chance getting the cab with what's happening with a few users out of thousands? Odds are, I'll be ok. But it would be a bit of a PITA if I bought the second cab and had to immediately turn the head over to an authorized service center because it had this issue. I appreciate what Ampeg is doing here and I love the tone of the one cab setup. Just wish I didn't have to spin the chamber on buying a second cab, is all.

First of all, a sealed 2 cubic foot 2x10 cabinet is going to have little bass and the sensitivity of 10" speakers are horrible. It will take alot of power to get anywhere with that, and another cabinet for a 4x10 vertical stack, might give you more sensitivity
but otherwise the poor sensitivity of the 10" speakers is still going to drink alot of power. could work for a low volume player, but its obvious your looking for more volume if you need 2 cabinets.

If your looking for a compact cabinet stepping up to a 2x12 will still stay on the small side, but offer way more sensitivity and could save you anywhere from 40 to 80 watts of power.

no offense, but after wasting alot of time on junk cabinets and junk amplifier. its time to move on, trading for another amp with a extra 100 watts and the same old junk switches and power supply will get you nowhere.

GK has a Neo 2x10 for the same price as the ceramic ampeg
and the ceramic 2x10 from GK is 50dollars cheaper.

pair that up with a 500watt GK MB500 head and you will have twice the power.

like i mentioned before if you can fudge the extra cash for a pair of GK 2x12 it will require even less power,
just a single 2x12 with enough power might even keep up pretty well with 2 vr2x10....add a second 2x12 and you will be kicking butt.

I would never let anything waste so much time and emails and money....just buy something better.

If I wanted GK, I'd have bought GK. But thank you for your rather inaccurate assessment of the situation. Bye now.

You get amps supplied to you on gigs and have multiple amps, I wouldn't expect you to get overly worked up. You got your Micro VR for a Christmas present lol. I shelled out almost 900 bucks for mine total. :D

This is my only amp right now, and I have Crate Powerblock as backup for DI purposes if this craps out.

They are moving at the speed of big business and support has been doing their job. You are correct on the honest effort part. I have given them my final request to make me a happy customer and go away. I just want to play music for a couple extra bucks a month and have an amp that sounds good. :D

I did buy the second cab, Allen ;)

Anyway, I hear ya...I am in a little better position these days, but I vividly remember a time not very long ago when I wasn't, so I hear ya loud and clear.

Ok. I am going to ask a mod to close this thread. I talked to Ampeg today and they ARE going to address the heads with issues and I feel confident they are going to take care of people now.

They have people that want to make sure customers are taken care of, but I get a feeling they are overworked and underpaid :D

For those of us that start getting the fixed heads let's start a new thread with comparisons of how you think the tone is the same or different.

People are still having issues and couldn't find an answer. This thread got buried. As far as I know Ampeg hasn't produced the fixed head yet either.

They have produced the "fixed" head, though for some reason, the new ones still say "Rev A" on them. I recently received mine, and it seems to have a bit less gain at the same knob settings, which I suppose makes sense. I can definitely turn up both the Gain and Master higher without the clipping effect. Overall volume potential between the "old" and the "new" seems pretty similar, but the new version is less prone to clip at lower knob settings, for sure.

You notice it gets "muddy" with less definition as well? Especially in a mix? At first I liked the wooly effect, then in the mix it was very undefined.

Now did they send you a "fixed" head they tweaked? Because if it were indeed factory produced it would at least be a B00 revision because the A00 haven't been made in a while due to tolex issues.

Edit: What I meant when I said a "fixed" head was one they didn't noodle with at headquarters, but actually hit production as a standard fix. I don't think these have been mass produced yet, they might not BE made either. Never got a solid yes or no on that one.
