Ampeg NAMM leaks?

+1 I just cant belive they didnt even mod there gvt50 into a bass head as pointed out by another user. Then they would of had a 50 with half power option all tube bass head to compete with the Little bastard. And since they are already building it cost would be low to just repurpose it.

They'd probably have to design a different output transformer. I'm sure they went cheaper on the transformers since it was a guitar-oriented design and that could limit bass output as far as I understand it.

I think Pyotr and team probably feel that they've really done a lot over the last couple of years to bring Ampeg back around for bass products: Heritage SVT-CL, PF series, Micro VR, 7-Pro, Pro Neo, and the crown jewel - the Heritage B15. Now that they have those plates spinning, they've shifted gears and are building up a guitar line with the GVT series and a Heritage Reverberocket. It's actually a pretty smart move, considering that guitar amps were always a part of the Ampeg legacy- but had gone completely by the wayside during the initial LOUD takeover. There seems to be some clamor for a VH 140 and also a V4 among guitarists, so perhaps some variation of those may even be in the future for Ampeg as well.

Looks like Mackie got the love this year. They're introducing a digital 16 channel board that interfaces with an iPad for $1000. Looks pretty sweet from what I can see.

But even though this is all they're doing for bass, let's not forget that their current products aren't exactly chopped liver ;)

It looked really sweet in the demo. I think leveraging the existing iPad platform the way they did was a smart move. It's cool how you can undock the iPad and walk around with it and check and adjust all your FOH settings.

That sounds just too good.
