Eff... I gotta hit the gym... But in all seriousness Its great to see some representation of Ampeg here. Hodgy is a cool cat, but I know he doesnt run the company by himself.
I think the thing that everyone here also needs to realize is that anyone who has a real presence here, be that Jimmy, Hodgy Ryan, or anyone else representing any other company or product is here because they want to be. Their participation is a bonus because we are getting attention from people that want to read, and respond to us.
I'm only here because I have huge insecurities that can only be satisfied by talking incessantly about myself on a website with a large user base.
But though I imagine you know this already, just wanted to point out that I NEVER EVER speak for Ampeg as a company official. My opinions are mine alone and do not reflect the company's policies. All I am is a glorified fan of their stuff.

Jimmy I know this, but others will see and interpret you as a direct spokesperson reciting what you are told. I know this is not true, in fact you would be the first person to call Ampeg to the carpet if you felt it needed to be done.
You are a knowledge resource for Ampeg products, and are here because you genuinely like the product.

not trying to bait or incite in any way .... I do respect Jimmy's knowledge as well as his obvious and often stated loyalty to the gear he loves. I'm truly curious if Mr. JM has ever actually called Ampeg out over anything on TB.

There was an article posted about the SVT-7 pro not meeting up to some published specs. He with held judgement on the topic until some additional testing came in that showed the results depend on where the input is sent. The preamp has a limiter that will keep the amp from going into shut down and that limits the power. If you test off of the power amp you get the full rated power. Jimmy was the first to say that if the testing didnt come through he would put up a stink.

It's a great gateway to Ampeg gear. Like the model, Like the amp.
Don't forget to update SVX with new models, like the Heritage, and new Portaflex, these are getting to be familiar sounds and finding their ways to recordings.

We don't make that, IK Multimedia does...although the Ampeg models being used are all licensed, approved, etc. I believe they have newer models ready, but not sure when they plan to incorporate those into an update. Agree with you that it is awesome software and sounds great.
Hi Paul, yes I’ve read many threads with someone accusing JimmyM of this or that and etc thinking he was an Ampeg spokesman and etc.
EDIT: and in spite of the past tone of this thread I really think it’s inappropriate to ask JimmyM for any such examples, If you want to poke at Ampeg ok, but don’t ask Jimmy to do it for you in this thread - just saying.
He is very opinionated and pasionate about Ampeg although not entirely consistent in his statements; good for him. We're all somewhat inconsistent.
Never had considered him any kind of spokesman for the company but rather another working stiff who plays bass.
