I agree with this 100%. I feel like if I buy something and it's brand new and it is not working properly then I shouldn't have to do anything other than return it and be sent another of the same, get my money back or exchange it. There is no way I should have to send it to be repaired or looked at and have to wait 6 weeks or however long to get it back and hope it works. Why would anyone suggest that a brand new, out of the box amp, with problems as severe as a shutdown, be taken to a warranty center rather than returned? I can see getting another one on the idea that it's one-off problem, but trying to fix something that made it past QC, still malfunctions, and also has numerous reports of major problems, is a fool's errand.
4 string jazz bass. I usually have the bass knob on the amp set to 1 or 2 o'clock. Nothing crazy. No loud drummer because I mostly just play for fun in my studio. Nothing I'm doing should cause the amp to shut down. I don't feel that any of the settings are drastic. It has cut out with gain at noon and volume at 1, bass at 2, mid at noon and treble at noon. There is no way that should happen. The amps not even being pushed at those settings..
Are you playing a 4 or 5 string bass? My guess is that you like to crank the lows up a bit?
Why not just bring it back under warranty?Well this is a brand new unit that I just ordered last week and received Thursday. How would I find out if it is new old stock. Is there a number on it or something that would indicate?
Because they’ll probably just send back a new one.Why would anyone suggest that a brand new, out of the box amp, with problems as severe as a shutdown, be taken to a warranty center rather than returned? Sorry you're having problems, but honestly, it's a fluke. I know plenty of folks who have had zero problems with their PF800's. Mine is 4 years old now and never shut off like that. Every now and then a bad one slips through, but you can say that about any amp made.
Sure are a lot of flukes floating around.
I'd bet dollars to doughnuts that for every broken one, there's hundreds that aren't, but you'll never hear about them because the vast majority of people on sites like this only pop up when they have a problem with their amps, and those who are regulars pop up in every thread about whatever amp.Sure are a lot of flukes floating around.
I counted 5, wise guy. Did I say these people didn't have problems? No I did not. Do not twist my words around to make it sound like I said things I never said. That's amateur hour on the internet.ROTFLMAO 15 guys in the thread having issues and Jimmy's like there's nothing to see here boys move along now.
That's just hilarious!

Already in the process. Exchanging it for a different brand altogether. Why not just bring it back under warranty?
Yes I have a small home studio and my gear never leaves it. But the studio is filled with gear from guitar amps and cabs to mics and recording hardware and the PF amps are the only pieces of equipment that have ever given me a problem.Haven’t checked every reply but quick question.
Has it always cut out at the same place? Your 350 previously too? As in always at the same place you jam?
