yeh it is a geddy lee bass with a mirror pickguard , i have the setting on the back of the pf210 set at 0 , and the effects i have on all the time on my pedalboard are a tech 21 sansamp programmable bass driver (custom setting) , mxr zakk wylde chorus pedal and bbe sonic stomp pedal then to the pf500 amp

I've been GASing hard for a PF500 and either a PF115 or PF210 and my local music shop finally called me to let me know the head was in but the cabs won't be here for another week or so. Question: having never played through this rig yet, what cab should I "test drive" this head with as a substitute for the PF cabs ? Which will ultimately sound the most like the PF cabs and give me an over all idea of whether or not I'll like the sound of the PF cabs? Is there a quick & easy answer ? Any input would be appreciated. Jimmy ?
Try it through whatever they have. I think the closest tonewise to the PF115 is probably the 610HLF. Not as sure about the PF210, though. It's tuned just a little higher in the lows than the PF115 but I'm not sure by how much. But really, that head is going to sound balls through whatever Ampeg cabs they have.
Does anyone know if they've fixed the cutting out problem? Loud Technologies graciously agreed to replace my PF500 and I got the new one yesterday. Haven't had a chance to use it yet, though. I'd really like to think it's not going to die on me like its predecessor did.
I got my PF500 and PF115 earlier this week and got a chance to put it through its paces tonight. First impressions -- I really like it a lot. I'll reserve saying I love it (or any amp for that matter) until I play it with a full band.
I was cranking on it pretty hard (but not with the peak light blaring), with a G&L SB-1 which has hot pickups, and with very little compression. Certainly no "cut-out" issue so far on this one. Love how "tubey" it gets with the gain on the right side on noon.

Timber22, can you tell me about your settings with the G&L ? Before I buy one, I'll be test driving it with a passive Fender P, but was thinking of getting a G&L with my year-end bonus too and I understand the settings may differ greatly.
