Don't let the exclusions list get in the way. From my experience they will usually honor the coupon. Also, I put a PF350/115 combo in my cart on GC's website with the coupon code and it gave me the discount.

+1

I asked my contact at my local GC about it and he said they'd still honor it. They want to sell gear. :-)

I love the set up but I get some rattle when the gain and volume are cranked. Does this happen to anyone else? The rattle is coming from the head but I am hesitant to take anything apart.[/QUOTE]

If you have the wheels on your cab try removing them. I had the same problem and it sounded just like the cab was buzzing but took me some time to realize it was one of the castors buzzing on an uneven floor. The cabs are light and the wheels will buzz on a hard unlevel floor.

The lid on my PF115 was rattlin' at moderate volume.
I added a extra strip of foam between the lid and cabinet...problem solved.

P.S.

I'm still waiting on my second PF500 head to show...come on Ampeg!!! :crying:

I just tried to order a second PF115, and Guitar Center didn't have just the cab in their system at all, just the stacks. Not on their website either. Very strange. My connection at GC is going to call Ampeg on Monday. Quite strange... retailers like Musicians Friend, Zzounds, American Musical and Samash still have just the cab...

Just for giggles, I plugged my Tele w/Texas Specials straight into my PF350, then into a 2x12" Emininence-GB12-loaded guitar cab. The resultant sound was quite awesome. It was clean, powerful, and went WAY LOUD!

Even with the PF350's gain fully maxed, the sound was still clean, but had some added fatness to the tone... and warmth too. The 3-knob EQ of the PF350 was perfect for dialing up some cool tones. I inserted a digital reverb pedal into the effect in-out loop, an darn if it doesn't sound like a Twin Reverb !

I've been playing with this setup for a few weeks, and now find myself thinking that this would work great for live guitar gig, especially for country. I have yet to try it with a distortion pedal.

I went into GC a few weeks ago & they said they could get the PF-115 but they would have to special order it.

Maybe a "Slow boat from China" delivery! :smug:

I got a e-mail yesterday saying Ampeg PF500 heads just arriving and should be shipping out same day.
Maybe the stories the same with the PF cabinets.

Sounds like your conglomerate shop decided against building that SKU in their system, that's all. Remember, Musicians Friend is essentially GC too...

My local shop ordered my cabs as separate items, so I'm sure GC can do it too...

A PF350 is huge power for a guitar. Be careful with your Master...
