I use one hand on the top handle and one on the bottom of the cab when I have to heave it up to any height.

Hmmm...that sounds like a pretty good way to do it.

S-prince, there's a possibility recessed side handles could take up more room in the cab, but if they do, it won't be by much, and I doubt it'll change the sound of the cab. I wouldn't install them just because it would require cutting massive holes in each side, but I don't see it changing the sound...unless of course you don't seal the holes all the way and it has an air leak.

Seems like you would have to account for the amp taking-up space inside the cab if you were going to install recessed side handles.

I'd have it done at Diversified Audio in Tampa.
They do great work and are an authorized repair shop for many brands.
I think they could handle* it.

is just under 9.5mm deep. Cabinet is 15mm thick. The sides could be routed for these handles without breaching the inside wall.

Anyone added handles to the side of their pF cab yet? Have a source for them? I'm waiting to my local store to get a PF500/210 in for me but thinking I will may want side handles.

I went vintage Ampeg style, with some black with black stitching handles from Amplified Parts. I measured them where I wanted them on the sides, and it kept the retro vibe imo.

I like that idea. The only thing I'd add is that if it was me, I'd use T-nuts or through bolts with locking nuts on the handles. Wouldn't be fun if the screws pulled out when lifting the cab.

Well,... a wheel came off my PF115 cab. The dinky little screws pulled out.

I fixed my PF115 cab wheels tonight with a combination of heavier screws and T-nuts/bolts. The caster bases at the rear of the cab can be fixed using 4 T-nuts with bolts. Here's a view from the inside:

But at the front of the cab, the speaker baffle board does not allow clearance for 4 T-nuts, only 2. In those positions I used heavier 3/4" screws. Here's a pic of the inside for the front caster attachment.

And here's a comparison of the fasteners. The dinky little 3/8" screws from Ampeg, compared to my replacement screws and the T-nut & bolt assembly. I used 3/4" long 10-24 bolts with 7/16" shaft T-nuts of matching thread. I don't believe they are going anywhere.

Cost, under $10.

+1 If I was going to add side handles, I'd go with ones that match the top handle. The B15R had side handles, and that's what it used although they were blue not black.

These are removable casters. But they come with the bases fastened inadequately.

Thats what I bought, I hope you are as happy with them, as I am so far. I forgot to mention that these handles from Amplified Parts don't come with mounting screws or hardware. You'll be on your own to come up with what you want in the way of mounting hardware. I happened to have some proper chromed screws on hand in my stash of screws and other hardware, and so far so good on lugging my new rig around.

I do like the equipment hauling capabilities of the pf designs. I would rather have it in a road case, but maybe a good padded cover would keep it nice. You cant complain much considering the low cost of this series...
