Ampegs fix for the PF115 wheel issue is to rotate the wheel assembly a 1/4 turn then redrill holes and use longer screws. At least that's what they told me on the phone.

I personally would use a little wood glue on the screw to make sure it sticks.

Yeah I'd like it to be smaller; the PF500 is about the largest and heaviest of the class D amps out there.

It is smaller and lighter than the 7Pro and the 8Pro.

On another note, has anyone seen covers available for these cabs? Ampeg said they were forthcoming, but I haven't seen them. An Ampeg cover like they have for their other cabs would be sweet. Those are padded and rugged. Tuki would also be nice. The only ones I've seen are cheap vinyl covers on ebay for $50.

That came to $75 for me and about a week turnaround on the order. This cover is not on their website yet (soon) but is currently available.

Anyone added handles to the side of their pF cab yet? Have a source for them? I'm waiting to my local store to get a PF500/210 in for me but thinking I will may want side handles.

Break time at gig with the Hobohemians at the Melting Point in Athens, GA. KAY upright (with K&K bassmax) into PF500/PF115 and cab mic'ed for FOH. Soundman LOVES this amp and prefers the mic to the DI. Lots of compliments on the sound tonight.

cab mic'ed for FOH. Soundman LOVES this amp and prefers the mic to the DI.

I took the photo in the living room because the light is better.
Totally happy with the tone of this set-up.

Cheers for that. The recessed handles would involve cutting into the cab wouldn't they? Any options that would just bolt on? I did come across some Ernie Ball ones that looked ok via searching on TB, but not sure if they're still made as EBMM doesnt list them on their site.

I was thinking the same thing.. I'd really love some side handles on my cab but would hate to cut holes in it....

Personally, I would rather take it to a pro audio shop and have the recessed handles installed. I think it would look cleaner and more professional.
I think the black ones would match the latches for the top, thereby maintaining the Feng Shui, Jimmy!

The problem with recessed handles though, is that they could possibly affect the voicing of the cab slightly due to reduced internal space. It probably wouldn't make much difference, but it's something to consider.

thanks man.. i appreciate it. Although the cab is light, having to lift it with one handle is a bit rough for my back.

When I have to lift mine, I bear hug it. I suppose if you don't want to bear hug it, you could install side handles, but no way you should be lifting it onto stages using only the top handle. That's back suicide.

Seems like you would have to account for the amp taking-up space inside the cab if you were going to install recessed side handles.

I use one hand on the top handle and one on the bottom of the cab when I have to heave it up to any height.
