Ampeg RB110 issue

Hello everybody,
I purchased an used Ampeg RB110 a month ago, it was properly working and i was enjoying playing it for home practice.
Since few days i started noticing a change in the tone, it started to lose some low end and have a slight distortion when playing higher notes, now it is pretty evident the change.
Thinking about what could have happened, my first guess was that the speaker finally broke in, but then when it started getting unpleasant I thought that it could have happened something when I played with the SGT channel volume maxed at low Grit level, even if I played with the overall volume set at 10 o'clock. I know, not the smartest move to max that knob, but my intention was to play it as it was a boost.
Anyway, has something similar occurred to anyone here? Any idea of what can be happened? I checked the cone and doesn't look like having some evident damage.
I live in a small region in Italy and I hope I will find a tech able to help me.

Bass speakers really do not break in... they change very little under use BUT it's possible that you "BROKE" it, or it was partially broken before you bought it.

It may not be the speaker, but if it is it should be available to any of the Ampeg authorized service centers or distributor in your region.

Unfortunately it does sound like you might have pushed the speaker to where it didn't blow entirely but it blew enough to be distorted. Take the grill off and gently push with even pressure around the voice coil cover. If you feel rubbing, that's the problem.

Though there could be internal damage without the "classic" rubbing sound/feel. It depends on what the damage is.

I recommend ruling out everything else first, since speakers aren't generally returnable.
