Ampeg Rocket Bass Combos

Tele, get a good sleep and send the kids to Grandma’s tomorrow, you have some playing to do! That picture looks terrific, btw.

Yep, running the Ultra Hi helps me hear the D and G strings better and just opens up the sound more. I haven’t had to touch the tone controls at all. I’m also not bothered by a missing gain knob. I turn up the volume until I’m happy and let it rip.

The combo takes pedals well and that’s nice. I like the DI as well, though I still prefer to come out of the SCR-DI pedal to the interface.

Find a few of your favorite songs and just have some fun. Don’t forget to let the CC know about your exploits either.

On that!! As for “”Grandma”…we ARE the G-parents, technically…:woot::woot:!! All too common these days, but we adopted the two grandsons! Finalized last year after three years wrangling with Texas (the Boyz are native Texans :cool::cool:), Arizona, where we live, AND the Navajo Nation where we work, Whew!

so… go design and market your own line of bass amps. Cater to a diverse network of players, with very specific experience, desires, and wants/needs. Good luck.

:roflmao::roflmao::thumbsup:

When Ampeg gets around to releasing a new series of combos at the feature and price points of GK's Legacy --- or even MB --- lines, the lack of Speakon connectors would probably be a more appropriate criticism.
True dat. A good 1/4" speaker cable gets the job done with these combos all day. Boss makes some nice ones.

And a salute to you and your bride, Tele. That's fantastic that you took on the most important task we have as humans...parenting. As a teacher, I hold special respect for those g'parents who took it upon themselves to put their families ahead of their own wants. Keep up the great work and know there'll be a teacher this fall who's quite appreciative of your efforts!

While I'm here, I'm contributing a three-min Mel Bay blues piece that you add your bass. I'm not claiming perfection, but here's a sample of the 122 doing what it does best; holding down the bottom.

Instead of running through the DI, I decided to mic it with my low-budget Shure PG58. It doesn't have the lowest frequency curve, but you use what you have and a bass mic might be down the road. I kept the tone controls flat and did not use the Ultras, my comp, or any other pedals. It's bass/amp/mic to my Scarlett. I thought it sounded a little boomy upon playback, but maybe you'll hear it differently. My playing was meh, but I feel we need to get some tones out there. Now for anyone with a 115 who'd like to volunteer...

Whats the price difference in bulk order of 1/4" and speakon connectors? It's very little. Like would not effect price of amp. At all.
