Would an Ampeg SCR DI pedal be necessary with an SVT 7 Pro 1000 watt amp? Can't I get that overdrive sound by just dialing it in on the amp?

It's a good little box for sure, but you can get a pretty decent overdrive out of the 7 Pro by cranking the gain hard. And it won't blow your speakers if you keep the master downIt's a good question. My next rig is an 810E powered by a 7 Pro. I'm currently using a BA 115. It has the exact same Legacy Preamp and Bass Scrambler. I'm definitely going to get the SCR DI, and use it through the "Power Amp in" of the 7 Pro. Its got to be easier than dialing it in, and it's right there at your foot. I don't think you can go wrong.
