Ampeg SVT 2x15 Cab confused!!

Ive had this cab for quite a while and it employs such an interesting sound. One of the main things that puzzles me is the year in which it was made. Can any one help me out?

Here is some information about the cab.

1. The Bass frequency is not as aggressive on cabs you hear today. Extremely Weird i own a GK NEO 4x10 and that thing gives alot more bass than the ampeg 2x15, with the same settings on the head.

2. The Cab is is extremely heavy and it seems like its actually made of real wood not the pressboard.

3. Their is only a 1/4 input jack, (no speak on jack)

4. 4ohms 500watts

5. No classic plate on the bottom corner of the cab.

so thats mostly the clear things i have noticed about the cab, i would really like to know more about the origins of it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

more information would help. what does the cab look like? grill cloth/tolex style? folded horn or front firing? pictures?

if you want a date it was made, best bet is to pull a speaker and look for a date code. if the speakers are eminence, the date code will start with a 67 and should read as 67-WWYY (week, year).

myth...sorry. if it sounds different from 30 ft away (does anyone stand 30 ft away from their cabs on a gig?), it's because of room reflections, not because you're using 15"s.

a lot of ampeg cabs have a rolled off bottom end...i like it because it interferes less with the bass drum in the overall mix. ymmv.

Ampeg has made some different 2x15's over the years. Some photos or cosmetic descriptions would help. Does it look like a modern "black and white" 810 fridge cab? Or is it shorter and more cube shaped? Alternatively - is it a vintage looking cab with 70's blue/silver grill cloth?
