Eric didn't have the rack kit for his 7pro and wanted a more vintage appearance anyway, so it was little tricky to accomplish that, but we both ended up happy with the results. IMO, it kinda looks like a mini SVT now. i forgot to weigh the head case w/o the head in it, but it didn't weigh very much. i would estimate it to be about 7lbs.

thanks guys, but i just built that one for Eric, and i'm not planning on making any more of them, since the head mounting tray/slide in system was a bit more time consuming than i thought it would be it.

Hey guys, well my 7 has been delayed and coming Saturday, I picked up my Berg HD212 today so the wait is going to kill Has anyone tried this combo? Any thoughts as i haven't tried either. just brought on forum hype and price point, it is going to fit into rock band, also im no expert on compression but use it to try and curb heavy string hits, how does the 7's compressor do this job? any recommended setting? Thanks guys roll on Sat!

The onboard compressor is decent for what it is...a ONE knob compressor. I usually keep it in the 8 or 9 o'clock position for any spikes and at that setting the comp rarely activates. At more extreme settings it performs as it should squashing any dynamics...which may be good or bad depending on what you like. Enjoy your 7PRO, I've had mine for almost a year (about 50 gigs) and enjoy it more now than when I first got it.

Hey thanks for the reply, yeah it the spikes I'm after lol, I've not been put off by what u read and I'm sure there are plenty of 7 lovers out there, I needed to lighten up and it seemed a solution

Having sent a PM to the OP prior to posting this (didn't want to disrupt the thread), and being told that it would be OK to ask, here goes.

I am wondering what recent purchasers of the 7 Pro are finding as far as shut-downs by the amp. I can't haul around a 4 Pro anymore (bad back) and would like to get a 7 Pro, but have been made nervous after reading the posts about the 7 Pro having problems. Does it appear that the changes made by Ampeg have at least reduced the number of amps that had problems?

I've had the head for almost two years now and never have a problem.

One thing I try and do is let all the lights go out on the head prior to pulling the plug. Someone told me that the 7Pro runs through a shut down cycle and you should let it complete when you shut down. I have no idea if this is valid but I figure it can't hurt.

I can only speak for myself but I've gigged mine hard, pushed it loud and for three hours at a time and never had any issues. Sounds damn great too
