Wow!
Would have never guessed that Ampeg had any new products to offer this year.
And to think the only new amp (that I don't need) but wanted was the Orange Terror amp; until now.

It's 1/2 of an 8PRO

Naw I don't think so guys... That AMS site also shows the 8PRO and those things were discontinued before they even were released in mass quantities. I know I had one on order for a year. I'm only like number 28 on the list at the Ford dealer for a Shelby GT-500 too, I expect that call any minute also.

Interesting. Although, at 15 lbs., it hardly qualifies as a micro amp. :D

It's also interesting that Ampeg takes the pains to say (on the back of the unit) that while the country of manufacture is China, the amp is designed in the USA. I wonder if that's supposed to mean anything--as far as I recall, they never made such qualifications on the Viet Nam-produced amps.

I'm intrigued, but skeptical. We'll see, I guess.

From the picture, it appears that the 7 Pro rack ears are flat metal like the B series, and possibly added to the sides of the chassis. On the 6-pro and all of the other Pro series, the rack screws go through a thicker one piece aluminum panel which extends across the front of the amp in front of the main box.
