It is indeed the one from Nashville. I've been talking to the guy about it for a month now and I finally sold my Redhead, so I went straight over there and grabbed it. I'll get some pics when I can find a camera that doesn't suck. Hopefully that will be soon, but I'm about to be gone for a week so I won't even get to play this thing much until the week after next
Just picked up a 2 pro premier edition and 810 for $1000 last night. buyer had mistyped the unit as #1 instead of #120. Darn. Drove from Boston to Albany to pick it up and didn't get back home till about 10:30 so I'm yet to try it out with the band. Need to race home from work and fire it up so I can hopefully use it at our show tonight.
I use one of these on the back of the rack, they work great!

mine has 2 fans installed on the back grill. it was like that when i got it. as far as i remember. they are just computer fans tapped into the factory fan's power. if you open the bottom side, youll be able to eye out the factory fan's wires...
Just thought I'd chime in as the proud owner of #35! Played out a lot with it around '94-'98, but then sold my 8x10, moved and wasn't playing out as much, so I stored it and picked up on a Hartke 15" combo to use at various rehearsals and jams for the sake of portability. Last week I bought the Ampeg SVT-410HLF Classic cab and paired it with the amp. Man, the sound is awesome, even with the original tubes!

Just confirming that the "thunk"...... I'd call it a "boing", maybe.... Is indeed caused by the transformer.
When the amp is brought out of standby, mains power is applied to the high voltage transformer. There is a very high current surge, and the magnetic field "pulls" the chassis top down. After one cycle of mains voltage, the transient is gone, and the metal "boings" back to normal shape.
You can touch the top and feel that.
It's not the only amp to do that.

My SVT 2 non pro just started making a sound today,, while getting ready to record it..
When i take it out of standby besides the Thunk noise that we all hear and is just part off it.
The speaker cab now makes a thump noise which it never did before..... and there appears to be a low freq HUM that is constant at about 60 hz .. So if i play a B on the "A" string it gets a beating sound.. ughhhh
I was unable to use it to record today the Hum to a little too loud... at a moderate volume..
Anyone know what that may be?

I was wondering why does the Mid selector switch,(even though the freq centers are the same) sound different on the Pro version than the older Non pro version.. Also the Ultra Hi switch on the PRO version does not boost the highs the way the Non pro version does.. Where the non pro versions sound closer to the early 70s type SVTs.. just wondering
I realize the latest post to this thread is over a year old, but I wanted to add that I just bought an SVT-II Pro Premiere (#185 of 250) for $700 (in great shape). This thing sounds AMAZING! Heavy as a teenager, but worth it!

I'm really tempted. I have a 2004 SVT-2pro... but I think it'd be sweet just to say I have one of these guys.

It is awesome.. never had this sound before, but have been searching for it for so long now..
Got this for a very good price, and the previous owner even put new preamp tubes in it..
Sounds magnificent on my SWR 8*10..

OK, I got #136 up and running. Amazing amp! I like it more than the II non-pros; I can get the beautiful dirt at a more usable volume level.
Nah - the SLM purchase was in '86 - and right away they made the Skunkworks SVT-HD - then around '87/88 they replaced the traditional head with the rackmount SVT-II. Then they added a few bells and whistles around '93/94 and and created the Premier Edition SVT-2 - then came the single channel SVT Classic, the
