Double Bass Ampeg svt pro-4

I sure would like to hear from someone whom had problems cutting though the mix, bi-amping this thing, it's sure weak. Just bought it off e-bay, I thought this thing would be louder than my Hartke 7000 (350wttsX2). It's supose to be 490watts per side?

the amp was set on stereo mode , i was using a hartke 2-15xl, & 7a 2-10xl, both are 4ohm cabs. had gain &master close to the 8-9 marks on the dial, club manager X& guitar player telling me to turn-up. I was not running though the mixer, but never had to with my hartke 7000? Dialed around with the thing all night with no success.

hmm, that doesn't sound right. I have a SVT-4PRO and I only use about 2 or 3 times a year. that thing is incredibly loud! usually my Eden WT-550 will do just fine even in outdoor type of event. Ampeg has a channel on youtube and they have a video explaining how to use the SVT4, also download the manual online. Even though there are louder, more powerful amps in the market these days I feel that the SVT4 should be adequate for any musical situation.
good luck.

I had one. went through 2 dead on arrivals before my 3rd one worked. didnt sound good... very bland and sterile. didnt cut through. overall a big disapointment. im currently using a 1990 peavey TB Raxx pre with a QSC 2450 and an ampeg 8x10... loving it although im gas'n something fierce for an eden pre
