ampeg svt pro 7 ?

I'm considering a new amp and want to try this head.just wondering what opinions some of you had about this head.I've not tried one yet so nothing is set in stone by any means.just looking for now

Most people who have them seem to like them.
But there is a yet to be unexplained problem with the limiter that may be lowering the output watts on some of the latest revisions of the amp.

When is he back from time out? I believe he likes the 7 pro as well.

How long is time out anyway, like Valentine's Day + 30? Geez, you'd think one would have a little something better to do around that time of year, like get a little..........

The SVT-7 Pro is the closest thing you'll find to an SVT in less than 50 pounds. The tone is pure Ampeg goodness, and it's as loud as almost anyone would ever need.

And yes, Jimmy M loves the -7 Pro!

Yeah, I thought that too Tim, But getting a REC-00C somehow it all just "felt" right, & luckily- has been!
'Tis a monster of an amp! Pushed it with 2x8ohm 410's & OMG- SO loud. & has a REAL lotta what the tube SVT's have. Lotsa heft behind each note & is also very versatile.
I've used mine successfully with upright & elec.
Also- works WELL with EVERY cab I've tried it with. UNLIKE another popular Hybrid Class D ;)

I got a new one. Rev C, apparently. Love it.

I didn't even consider the possibility of getting a 'dud'. Even if I did, there's a 5 year warranty. I don't measure watts, nor do I run a scope when I play. Much ado about nothing IMHO. It passes my ears-test and that's the only one that matters It's been a great amp for me and I highly recommend it!

I just got one recently and it sounds great. It replaced my hartke lh1000 that decided to take a crap out of me. i will say it's not as loud as I expected. We played a gig at a place last saturday that we played in november. I had my hartke on 3, and I had to put the svt 7 half way up to get the same volume. It's really light and sounds great though, and i like mine a lot.

Here's my (what feels like a now customarily) I love my 7 pro. As already said, there's quite a few threads here on them, they sound the closest you can get to an all tube SVT and so on. Go play one if you can.
