That faceplate is so clean! Looks great..
those 25b cabs do not handle that much power. be careful with the v4 head. I fried one back in 73 first night at rehearsal. had to use 2 cabs to handle the v4b before getting a squareback

So, I have a project on my hands. I recently got my V4 (Magnavox era clean as a whistle with the ORIGINAL TUBES in it). I was trying to find a cab that wasn't a fridge (8-10) to put under it that was at least as wide as the V4. I have serious issues with the head being wider than the cab. Anyway..... I found this thing and bought it from a fellow TBer near here. It's a mid 70s B40 cab with the original square backs in it. Of course, it needs a ton of work, but I think it will be fun. Also threw in a pic of the guts of my "new" V4 showing those Magnavox tubes.
so do you guys think it would be good to just order a new pair of speakers?
what would you recommend? i see many threads talk about the delta and beta speakers by eminence...
also if i do replace the speakers do you think it would be worth the trouble to line the whole cabinet with some batting or something?
Still looking to buy a V4...either that or just save up for a Spector
I was for a while and ended up with this instead...
Score. Sound City amps are very under rated and not loved for some reason.
Does anyone have any sound clips of their V4? Would love to hear and see how other people are using them!

I used a B40 cab with mine for a while. The stock speakers are not the same as the square back speakers in the SVT 8x10, they're a lower end model and don't handle much punishment. I ended up swapping them out for some newer speakers. The cab is about the same size as half a flatback 8x10, so you could use just about any speaker designed for a sealed 8x10.
It's not a 410. It's an Ampeg V4 Cabinet which I've loaded with four S2012 Basslites. It punches like crazy.
