i bet it sounds awesome. I used my v4b back in 72 with 2 b25 cabs ( 4 15's though crappy cts) and it sounded huge till I got a squareback and then it was the holy grail....
Can I join? I purchased this v4b in 1996 for $200. It's been my main amp since. I run it with 2 410he cabs.

Joris has his T stack, Jimmy has his inverted T stack. Makes me wonder if there is a way to do a J stack.

LOL yes sir David, and thanks to your excellent advice as always this stack rules as h*ll. I'm sorry I no longer use Ampeg for cabs, but my old tube amps definitely drive these 1500 watts taking babies straight to heaven. You won't believe the lows, definition, pressure, and tube sound they deliver. Plus the 210 and 310 give me unlimited flexibility for al kinds of situations. It took some time to find and test the 'right' cabs for what I wanted (low weight, high power, deep lows, small size...) but I'm all set till the day I die. And - David: no discernable volume difference with the V-4B at 2 Ohms. Can you believe it? I'll report again when the SVT arrives.
By the way, David - I'm doing the J-thang normally, with the amp on its road case next to the cabs - so join the club!

Sounds like you made a very good decision getting those cabs. Having them balanced is a bonus and makes it even better. Glad that it worked out so well.
LOL! Break-in period...well I did drop it once. Lost the V1 pre tube and scared the crap out of myself, that's about it.
I had the chance to compare some brand new and the same, but a few years older, now-on-the-market tube amps (Ampeg, EBS, Orange) and the sound difference (warmth, depth) was amazing. That's why I put the benefit of the sound doubt to the reissue compared to my '71.
Apparently the new ones suck and we should pay double the old going rate for vintage V4B's.
