Ampeg v4 lights flickering

Is it an original V4? If so is it both lights that flicker at the same time?

The V4 had two neon lights, one on the power line side of the power transformer, one on the high voltage side of the power supply. Neon light will burn out with time and can flicker as they age. They can be replaced.

Another possibility is that the line power is intermittent and power is being cut to the amp for short periods of time. You could have a broken power cord or a bad power switch. Check the cord at the plug and where it attaches to the amp. Wiggle the cord at those locations and see if the lights flicker.

Hopefully this is a simple fix, but the lights on my V4 generally are off but flicker intermittently when on. Any ideas as to what would make this happen? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Mine do too...my power light flickers and my standby light doesnt work.

From what I understand its either the bulbs or the resistor is worn out. Either way its a cheap simple fix but it does not effect it if you dont fix it. Mine has been running for years like this
