Ampeg V4B Cab - Folded horn enclosure

You get a lot of bottom up close with that rig?
With Acoustic it seems to be a sweet mid all around. The bottom is there but the overall tone is very equal between the lows and the low mids with a very sparkling defined high. My 360 tone is the one over all my amps.

But if your asking if it really thumps up close the answer would be yes!

I used to play my Ripper (which is more a midrangey sort of bass) through an Acoustic 150 head into an Acoustic 301 cab (which is an 18" folded horn) and everyone who's heard it thinks it's a great combination.

That was my "small venue" amp and cab when I didn't want to bring my "big" rig - which was an Acoustic 360 stack.

Still got that old 301 cab. Nuff said? :)
What did you think of the 150 head?

Loaned mine out one time in a fit of do-gooder weakness and never got it back. Probably my favorite bass amp after my B-15N. Big lush sound. And with a nice tank reverb and tremolo that actually work with bass. Put the verb on 2 or 3 and the trem on 1 and you get this lively but subtle motion in your sound that I haven't heard out of anything else.

I keep shopping for one in acceptable condition at all the usual places. Almost got one off eBay in excellent condition not too long ago. But Microsoft's effin' "Uograde to Windows 10" banner popped up with about a quarter minute to go and wouldn't let me close it, or give me the focus back, for almost a full minute. The amp got gaveled down for $379.99 Which pissed me because I had $387.80 cued up and ready to get put in at the 7 second mark.

Oh well! I will get another one eventually.

Now I hate Windows 10 even more. I really feel terrible for you.

Yeah. I was pissed. Especially since I'm in IT for a living. So I know that jive move of stealing and holding the focus long enough to force you to look at it was deliberate. That's a bit of assinity I'd expect more from some bush league programmer. Not from the industry heavyweight.

One more reason why I've almost entirely shifted over to Linux for my own use. I expect my machines to be my machines. Not client terminals in some megacorp's "cloud."

It was only a fluke I was in Windows at that precise moment. Never again.
