Ampegish?

I use a VTDI to get an Ampeg-ish tone from a Peavey amp that belongs to my church. I would buy an Ampeg amp, but I’d want to take it home each week to play with, meaning much more of a load. And I doubt if my wife would agree to donating one, or if anyone but me would care or notice! :)

I agree, Nothing songs like fridge. Never had the chance to play through a tube SVT though. That said I gave up on my fridge. Tired of moving it up and down stairs lol

My fridge lives in the back of my truck , so no stairs for me. Most of the guys in my band works construction so getting help with that 85 lb. amp head isn't really a problem. That said , I have been using the PF 500 head a lot more these days.

Bah, they make plenty of lightweight amps and cabs. They sound pretty great, too.
I agree, I have an Ampeg SVT and a Fridge, love the way it sounds, but also have The V4B and SVT212AV, to my ears sounds just as good if not better, rarely do I even move my SVT, always have FOH, but I don't want to sell it either. Never know when I'll want to see if all my neighbors are home. Or need it for a gig! what kind of gig? I don't know haven't had one that big yet.

They also have the Scrambler, Classic and SCR-DI pedals. Lots of options there as well...While I will likely never own an SVT or fridge for practical, financial and marital reasons, I don't mind hauling my V-4B stuff around because it just sounds so good, as does my MicroVR rig.

Electric Blue has a Parallel FX loop.
You test your head for that by pulling your FX knob to see if it'll cut out a preamp or pedal when you are 100% wet.
I'll get by with a 310, not like it's worse than a 410HLF.
Voila, SVT sound at low volume.
Sometimes firing the preamp up with a power amp at home is deafening and crazy.
You don't need that all the time, get by without powertube saturation.
