I am currently using and SVT-810E cab on a SVT pro 3 head. To connect the cab to the head, the cab as 3 options to use. I use the #3 connection according to the manual (http://www.ampeg.com/pdf/SVT810EAV.pdf). For this connection it says :
    SpeakonĀ®
    Lower 4X10 Dual
    Mode or Mono Mode Input/
    OutputJacks

My question is, by using this connection, am I only utilizing half the speakers in this cab? I been trying to listen to and feel the amp when I am playing to see if the whole thing is working or if only the upper or lower half is working. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Ive searched the forum for an answer and didnt see a related topic.

    From the manual:

The cabinet operates in the Dual Mode whenever a connector is inserted
into the 1/4” Upper 4X10 Dual Mode input jack (#1). Otherwise, the cabi -
net operates in the single 8X10 Mono Mode.

You're good. In order to use only half the speakers per connection, the very top 1/4" jack (#1) must be used with one of #2 or 3.

thank you very much. So I could technically use 1 of the #2 1/4" jacks to use all 8 speakers too if I somehow lost my speakon cord?

Is there a way to only use half of the cabinet? I've been getting noise complaints at the practice place and would like to have the option of less output in that environment without sacrificing the output of the live environment, of course.

Yep, just plug into the top 1/4" jack. Or you could enjoy the awesomeness of the whole cab and just turn down.
