I recently purchased an early 1940's Epiphone upright bass that had an "amplified peg" installed. I had it removed by a Luthier and was wondering about its collectability and value.
It is, as best I can tell an early 1960's model as the volume control has " mpeg Linden NJ" on the label. It is a stereo model as best I can tell as there are two microphones one interior and one on the back of the volume control which goes on the front of the bass. It works but is pretty raspy as one might expect.
