Double Bass Amps with a mic input?

Are there other amps with an xlr input?

There is the other option of buying a PA speaker I guess.

I've had a doubler for a while now, and I love being able to use the mic with it-- but sometimes (when I use a pickup) I wonder if its not quite the right fit for me/my bass/etc.

I've used the art tube with my DPA 4099 and it worked pretty well for an inexpensive option. It also helped as a mic preamp for some recording I did a while back.

I am looking at getting the acoustic box live. Or maybe the Flexx preamp for blending a mic and pickup. d-tar has a preamp that works for this application though I haven't tried it.

I would think that the combination of the EA Doubler and the Wizzy 10 would be about as good as it gets for a light weight DB amplifier and speaker combo. If you're looking for a bigger sound, I'd consider the Wizzy 12 M Line. The Doubler, was designed for DB with all the bells and whistles, it's a very well thought out amplifier. As mentioned above, there's the Acoustic Image Flex Pre Amp, and the Headway EDB-2, but the Doubler has all the controls that those boxes offer. I'm a little curious as to what kind of pickup you are currently using. Powered Speakers are great, in fact I use one (a QSC K8) but EA makes some of the best DB speakers I've ever used. Just my opinion, others may disagree. Dr. Emile Lazardo of Yo Yo Dine Industries concurs. ;<)>

Eric here is the full story.
I've had the Doubler now with 3 different cabinets and 2 pickups. An EA Wizzy 10, Crazy 88 and a Big E 45. The two pickups are a revolution solo (which i gave up on) and a realist which I've had for a while. The Wizzy has a particular sound (lots of midrange, not so much bass) but its been workable, and actually sounds good with a mic. I was happy with the Crazy 88 but it needed a structural fix from Mike, and he suggested that I switch up to the Big E. Now that I have the Big E Im questioning my signal chain. In light of all the glowing reviews of these cabs, Im finding it very strange that its completely not working for me/my bass. Eric are you using a doubler + 45?

Can anyone chime in on the Carvin AG 300?

It is comparable to the fishman loudbox but also made for bass instruments. It has 3 mic inputs. I'm looking to get one for our bluegrass band when we play smaller gigs.

Sorry bout the 88 Feral Feline, the other guy got there first (its a race!).

I was just checking to see if I was thinking of all the options--- I wasn't. I forgot about using a preamp like the Headway. I also forgot about the SWR Natural Blonde, though thats because I've used it before and didn't like it.
