Double Bass AMT pik-ups

very cool! thanks adrian and hdiddy-i'm learning much from all you guys-did a jazz hit tonight, fishman pick-up, e.q. pedal, swr super redhead ( trio, low volume). got a nice fat low end sound but high register was gnarly--looking forward to messing with my new toy, adrian! and hdiddy, i'd love to see your bass (from your profile), are there pics? also, i seem to recall using a comb to mute strings, back in the day, but don't think it was about amplification. think that would work? and bolo-updated my profile!

Sounds like you're laying it down solid!

Re: the afterlength thing - I picked up a Vibramute the last time I ordered strings from Lemur Music. At $6, I think it was the cheapest piece of bass gear I ever bought.

solid, you are too funny man. You don't know Marcus Johnson do you?

Yeah, I live in Apex, NC. "The peak of good livin'" is the town slogan. Now if you know the town, that's funny.

I have heard of many DIY solutions to the afterlength thing. But DIY is not my bag, so I chose the Vibramute due to its pleasing aesthetics.

It looks okay on my bass too.

thanks again bolo man! don't think i know marcus but the fact that i don't remember doesn't mean anything. pardon my ignorance--what be DIY? anyway, i want to buy the lemur thing as soon as i recover from buying AMT from adrian! i get to use that for the first time out tomorrow--i'll let you know.

adrian, guys, --AMT is by far the best amplified sound i've ever gotten--i've used it on two gigs so far, with fantastic results. granted, both hits were fairly small rooms, trio stuff, but how great is it to be happy with your sound! and yes, it also sounded great in my living room! thanks again, adrian, i've been meaning to call, and still will, crazy time of the year! happy holidays to all--peace, out.
