That’s a sharp looking Ric, but it doesn’t look like there are many options for your plucking hand.
Are those pickup covers easily removable?

Yes, and they were supposed to come with two treble bezels from the factory.

I've read several reports of them not being included, however.

I bought my AC new from Sam Ash and it did not have the treble bezels included, but when I called Rickenbacker they told me they were NOT included (even though they were advertised as such) and strangely tried to convince me that the treble bezels were actually the chrome covers OVER the pickups and since those were installed on my bass, they owed me nothing.

Oh well. No more Rickenbackers for me.

I've owned and played several Rickenbacker basses (4001, V63, 4003, C64) over the years. Used one almost exclusively when I was on the road back in the day. But I had to sell them all due to financial issues. And I can't see ever getting another one due to the prices they are asking now. These days, given my age and playing schedule, I could never justify paying that kind of money anymore for ANY bass. But that's just me. YMMV.

up here in Canada they are no more expensive than a typical American made Fender.
I got my 4003SW for less than a Fender American Professional II would have cost me

Charlotte a good name choice...Adolph Rickenbacker's wife was named Charlotte

I got my 4001 for $1200 Cdn. And managed to find a 4000 for even less. Well below market prices at the time.
