An old question with a new twist

Some very nice songs, and a big deal with my parents' generation. Curiously, I've never played any in any context, or gotten a request, but I think I've heard buskers play a couple of songs here and there. Generally their more serious songs aged better than the more bubblegummy ones, which (to oversimplify) kind of have a "how do you do, fellow kids" vibe sometimes.

So, I guess they are more geared towards a specific generation, as opposed to being classic....

I have never performed abroad, but I have performed to tourist that have come from abroad. IME, regardless of whether they are from Europe, Asia, South America, etc., the Beatles have ALWAYS gone over well.

Some of it is very much real classic. But being sort of our first important rock band, some of their lyrics are kind of awkward, so foreigners covering them should choose carefully. Some of the slightly later bands, like Skaldowie or Breakout, seem a bit safer, if you stick to their bigger songs.
