Hi all, I finally added an ssl cert for all you 21st century readers out there. Last year various browsers stopped allowing sites to display without an ssl certificate, and sometimes they didn't even recognize the free certs that come with some hosting plans. Only a paid cert solved the problem across all browsers. ""Thrilled"" to pay $100 a year so my site that hasn't been updated in six years will continue to be viewable.
I also removed the Amazon, Google, and Ebay links from every page because even though they used to help defray the operating cost, they have all decided my site is too antiquated to continue functioning in their ecosystems, and they started sending me warning notices. Rather than sit up and beg for their acceptance, I just deleted them from the site. Google probably won't even show my site in search results anymore.
That's honestly fine for *me* since I am not trying to draw traffic in anymore, but it sucks for anyone else who wants to find useful info. It is extremely disappointing that my FAQ articles will disappear under a colossal mountain of LLM generated baloney sites with fake information.
The main reason I'm posting here now though isn't to kvetch about my petty website problems! Since I went through to edit all 800 or so pages one by one, I finally caught and fixed a few typos and other errors, and I started to feel an urge to actually go through and correct any technical errors that I may have written way back when. I used to get emails regularly saying "in your review of the Brflmx Compzor you say it uses a 27B/6 chip, but in fact it uses a haptic isolator." Sometimes I fixed my page, but often I got buried in avoidance, procrastination, and burnout, and I never got around to making the edits. Sometimes I didn't even respond to the email. I now have the will to do it. But I don't remember any of the things that needed correcting! It's been so many years that I can't even search my old emails, and what search term would I use anyway? I'm posting now to ask that any of you who knows about any technical error on Compressor Reviews please reach out to me with your corrections! Thanks y'all.
