Nah, if you're going for pike, I'd suggest a slowly fished tailbait.

We did it with canepoles and Daredevils, boat motor going at a clip that may seem a little fast for what most people think of as traditional trolling.

Those northerns (pike) loved it. Caught I don't how many times more that way than with a rod and reel.

Flyfishing....haven't done it much, but the couple times I have were just wonderful. Still keep a flyrod and reel of floating line around because I really need to do it more.

No pike around here. For freshwater, we mostly have trout, steelhead (sea-going trout), bass, and perch.

I've heard that pike are loads of fun to catch.

I mostly fish for trout.

I prefer to slow-troll either a Roostertail or a Super-duper in my canoe.

FWIW, I still haven't hooked into an ancient alien yet. I think I need to try some different lures, or perhaps a wooly-bugger for those.

Ok, so steelhead are the same as what we call seatrout? Cool fish, masters at throwing the hook so they're quite frustrating to fish for.

I've got a lake right outside my door with loads of Northerns, and you're right, they're a blast, so aggressive! Good population of perch too, great fun in the summer on topwater and soft plastics.

Love troutfishing as well, so much fun on ultra light gear!

Those are neither aliens, nor ancient. They were commonly seen in the 1970's, usually in the evenings, or on saturday mornings, sometimes within an hour or two of a Bugaloo sighting.

Too confused to post on this one. I thought straying from the off topic's topic made people literally start to cry. I see it's no problem here at all.

Maybe I should do onto others as they have done unto me and report all the off topic posts.
