I picked these up today:

An ancient old set of what appear to be hand forged tuning machines made from a hefty amount of steel. Any ideas of their origin? I wish I could have seen the bass they originally were made for. They still work pretty smooth. I'm pretty sure someone has spent decades looking for a set...

The single offset nub for the screw makes me feel better, because I'm sure that was a "Doooooohhhhh; %#@!!!!" moment for the builder, just like the rest of us get some days.;)

The biggest curse of Oak Island is that they keep renewing the show.
Curse or not, it must be making money for someone.. Personally, I find it interesting. Plus, the two brothers are from Traverse City, MI, where we lived for a long time.

I do wish they would find another narrator: "A piece of wood, found only 12 inches from the last piece of wood? Could this be an important clue to the whereabouts of the next piece of wood?"

My beef is that shows of this nature do not belong on History Channel; put 'em on Discovery or something similar and don't have a steady run of them Tuesday night through Friday night on H.C. They ain't history.

And they avoid closure. Nothing is ever found, nothing is ever explained satisfactorily, and all too often the best "evidence" is an unanswerd rhetorical question. Ancient Aliens, I'm looking at you.
