I have not played the Four 10 in a direct side by side comparison with an Ampeg 810 but I did use one (Ampeg) for years, so this is based on memory. Without a doubt a Six 10 would totally trump the Ampeg 810 imo and unless you were going into extreme overdrive the Four 10 should keep up with it. I have compared the Four `10 with a Fender neo 810 in my band room and within the limitations of that room and using an Orange AD200 the Four 10 kept up in clean volume with the 810. I do also have the option of adding my two One 10s to the Four 10 to create a Six 10, but honestly and in a loud band I have never felt the need, the Four 10 is that good. One of the issues I have with Barefaced speakers is that after a lifetime's playing it is really difficult to accept that "less can be more" in terms of speaker quantity, but because the Barefaced speakers move more air 2 can equal four I believe. This applies to both the BF tens and twelves.
I have yet to try a Barefaced twelve, primarily because I find the built in character of the tens absolutely suits what I want to hear (and I don't need more gas....).

Only a certain segment of the gear buying market can afford it. A Tesla is not a "popular" car.
I never thought I'd get a chance to try a BF cab w/o ordering new. Just got lucky in that a hotel band's bassist decided he did not need a BF Twin2 for his gigs. He already had some other very nice, high end brand cabs I saw when I arrived at his place, drool.
He posted the BF on CL, contacted him that evening and I was there early the next day to pick it up. At a very nice price I might add. Also, helped that he was in The Woodlands, about 25 mins from me. Further away and I mighta just passed on it. There are some nice used one's here on TB from time to time. "Very choice, I highly recommend trying one if one has the means" bueller

Well, it's not that expensive. Their 410 is in the same price range as most ampeg, fender, swr..... Cabs
True, but they’re just not as known. Probably because they don’t spend money buying advertisements.
People grow up wanting an Ampeg. BF’s been around for like 10 years and people haven’t had an opportunity to grow up wanting to buy one. It’ll happen, eventually.
WooHoo! The BassGods musta heard my whining here. Some random guitarist I don't know, got my ph # from a sometime band mate. He hired me to do a blues-rock gig this Friday. Patio outside of a Houston Hipster bar. And I got to hire the drummer du jour too.
If I wasn't so dang lazy I'd take the Ampeg out for some fun. But the BF/BTT+Peavey MiniMega will get the call this time, since I'm not real clear on the schlep factor I'll face. And my very much unplayed Valenti #25, Nordys/J5, gets to come out n play too.
So looking forward to knocking the cobwebs outta this rig.

I sold my two, GB Neox 212T's but I still own one, GB NX2-212T cab. I can't give a great description as to how it compares to my GB or 212AV cabs. But I can say the BF with the 2x12's, 6" mid and tweeter and with the on board control knobs for the mid/tweet. The BF cab cam sound so much bigger, clearer, tighter than those other two cabs. I just really like 3 way cabs now. Makes so much of a difference to my sound that I can hear so well on stage.
I'm hearing this gig may require a smaller setup so I may take the GB NX2, just such a nice versatile cab. To me, just abit more modern but cleaner than my NeoX cabs did. Not as big or clear as the BF BTT. But again, the 3 way setup just offers such a nicer sound, to me.
I've done big outdoor gigs with the NX2, no PA support and it did just great. And I only play 5 string basses. Although as to the schlep factor, the BF is not at all heavier or larger to move around. But it sounds just better, different, than my other large cabs. It may still go, I can just turn down....but I prolly won't want to.

The Barefaced in the US because there are no dealers and you have to have one shipped to you without hearing it first and with no opportunity to return it if it doesn't work for you. The Greenboy designs, because you either build one or have it built for you by a Greenboy builder... and then it may not be the flavor you prefer and again cannot be returned.
There is no question that both are great cabs but they do not fit everyone's taste and those constraints make it harder for someone to jump in unless they run across a used one or are willing to take the risk. There are other cabs out there that likewise may or may not fit someone's individual taste but are equally "good" - Audiokinesis, MAS, and Genzler Bass Arrays... and some more traditional designs from Mesa, Trickfish, Bergantino, etc.
