and it starts...modding the Squier 60's CV P

Brian. Epic.

I'm seriously blown away by the neck.

its my favorite part. its jazz width but has a very fat depth to it so it still feels like a P with jazz spacing. if you could play this neck it plays like a well cared for 50 year old neck. it feels so true its amazing, i couldnt put it down. i actually picked up a pick :rollno: and ripped through NOTHING but punk rock on it last night. its so aggressive what started as my Motown bass has becom my strictly punk rock bass.

Yes... I am very impressed... what a beaut!

You've done a Dark Horse there...

Fantastic job.

I've saved the photos as a reference... can you make me one? heh.

im deeply honored. before i start churning em out like DH im going to be doing a couple body styles for personal use just to get the flow going and cut my time down (secret:next one is probably a 51'p with a jazz profile neck :D )

Holy crap, thats just bangin!

sir..out of everyone i wish you could play it. i know youd eat it up.

Great work...just a killer looking bass ! Special kudos on the neck - most people have real trouble with things like fingerboard wear. You've got a knack for this stuff. Now go rock the living daylights out of it ! :D

(PS) Take some better "whole bass" pics and post them. The detail shots are great, but I wanna see it all "together" ! ;)

ill take some more when my wifes 50mm lense and indoor filter come in so i can start to do it justice

Nice work Idol, I can't wait to see the neck being ''broken in''. :)
Now only a chrome pickup cover. Even if you don't use it, it'll make the bass look more authentic with the holes/screws only. :D

Do you have some pics of the wiring? I am not sure where I have to use the orange drop capacitors. I want it to be as original as possible. :)

the orange drop capacitor is on the tone pot. its the only one youll need it on. ill get more pics of the bass once my wifes new camera lense is in

Just wanted to let you know that you ruined my totally stock CV for me after seeing yours. I don't even like relics .... but that thing looks AMAZING !!!!! I want you to do mine !

thank you so much. i think theyre a fantastic bass but i wouldnt trade mine for the world the way it is now. for a guy who just simply cant swing a vintage P this has truly made it all happen for me

So guys, sorry for the late, late..., late! Reply.
But, I'm almost done! the pots and Fender '62 PU's are in it's place, now I'll just have to let it set it up by my luthier and it's done!

I don't have a bass amp at home, so I had to plug it into a 70's guitar amp and there was a sound coming from it. :P
