And price becomes and issue...

I settled on the Avatar B212 Neo and GK 700RBII. I convinced my parents. Apparently lowering it from $1000 made it not seem so bad. Only thing im worried about is showing the Guitar Center people the RMC quote. Hopefully they will sell at the RMC price. Pretty sure its illegal to do this but oh well?

I've heard of several instances of GC matching, but you'll pay tax. I ordered from RMC and their service was impeccable - repacked head (they put it in a 2nd box with padding), and the cab case was opened and packing reinforcement added to protect it - no tax and free shipping.

Yeah some of my friends have had GC match. Time is the issue, or i would just order from RMC. If GC gives me any problems ill order from RMC and hope in comes in time, but not when im off on vacation.

Give RMCAudio an email. Ask them whether they have the 700RB-II in stock. If they do, order from them; and you'll get your amp on time without tax, the annoyance of haggling with GC, etc.

I was in a similar situation where I needed my 700RB-II and Neo 112 for a gig that was coming up. Yet, when I ordered, I found out that they didn't have the head in stock. So, I explained my situation to Rafal from RMCAudio; and he was very helpful in speeding things up, making sure everything got to me on time, etc. (In fact, I received the rig a day earlier than he mentioned.) Everything came well-packaged (as TheXym described). Talk about quality service! :)

Yeah well I didnt want to worry about it not getting here on time for the gig, so I just now brought it back from GC for 510 with everything included :) The head i mean. Now just gotta get the cab. Thanks for are your help guys

Dude, whatever you do, get something you can use for a long time. Get a good head with enough power, and get a nice-sounding cab. The cab should be able to sound effective in a med size room, and give you a tone you like.

It doesn't have to be the everything rig, just solid. Do it so you can add to it as you go, is all. The NEO 212 and that GK 700 head sounds like a real good idea.

Sure, be frugal- just don't cheat yourself. Your folks should know that.
