As a youngin', I have so much respect for Andrew and his playing, if there is one bassist I believe deserves the recognition and credit they deserve, it's definitely Andrew!

I downloaded this album last night, and it is killer! The playing is great, but the songs are really nice. There is no fluff on this album.

Wow! The playing & compositions across the board are not just outstanding but "musical" and tastefully done. Some cats get so wrapped up in laying down chops that they lose musicality. Definitely not the case here. This is going to be in regular rotation for a very long time.

You don't get MD work if you don't know how to do musical arrangements. I never get the booklets from iTunes.

That's true especially when u are working for someone else. But, sometimes when it comes to solo projects cats get more consumed with "showing out". But The Gooch really Did an outstanding job.

The other advantage Gooch has is that he has been playing for forty years. Gospel allows for a lot of improvisation, and I am sure he got the flash out his system decades before he released this album.

It's definitly on my list. He's a monster player and a great guy. If you can hang with Andrea Crouch with Bill Maxwell you can hang with anyone.
